Reporting it to the police

Report theft to the PSP (cities) or GNR (rural). Lisbon and Porto have dedicated PSP Tourism Police stations with multilingual officers. You can start a report online via the Sistema de Queixa Electronica, but you must confirm your identity in person at a PSP/GNR station within a limited window (bring your passport) or it lapses. Ask for the Auto de Denuncia (theft report).
