Emergency numbers
Reporting it to the police
File a police report (FIR/e-complaint) at the nearest station or on your state/UT police online portal, then register the phone's IMEI for blocking at the national CEIR portal (ceir.gov.in) with a copy of the report and photo ID. The Dept. of Telecommunications helpline for CEIR is 14422 (domestic).

Blocking your SIM
These are India's carriers - use them if your number is local. If your SIM is from your home country, call your own carrier's lost-phone line instead; nobody here can block a foreign SIM.

Your embassy

Getting back online
Tourist prepaid SIMs and eSIMs require your passport and visa for KYC; a police report plus photo ID lets your carrier issue a replacement SIM for a lost number. Foreign phones roam normally, but a locally purchased Indian number needs in-person verification.
