Lost phone · Brazil
Lost or stolen phone in Brazil: the numbers that still work.
In Brazil, military police (crime in progress, theft/robbery) answer on 190, and 1 of Brazil's 3 big carriers will take your SIM-block call from abroad.Your phone is gone and you're holding a borrowed one, so everything here dials from any handset - no apps, no account, every number a tap-to-call link. Work top to bottom.

Emergency numbers
Reporting it to the police
Register a boletim de ocorrencia (police report) at any delegacia; several states offer an online Delegacia Eletronica (e.g. Rio's delegaciaonline.pcivil.rj.gov.br, Sao Paulo's Delegacia Eletronica). A police report is recommended but NOT required to have carriers block the line - by Anatel rule the account holder can request a block directly. Tourist-facing DEAT/Deatur tourist police stations exist in Rio and Sao Paulo.

Blocking your SIM
These are Brazil's carriers - use them if your number is local. If your SIM is from your home country, call your own carrier's lost-phone line instead; nobody here can block a foreign SIM.

Your embassy
If your passport went with the phone, your embassy or consulate issues the emergency travel document - the local police can't. The official directory of foreign missions in Brazil is here: find your embassy ↗. Bring the police report from the step above.
Getting back online
Vivo, Claro and TIM can issue a replacement SIM/eSIM in-store; buying a Brazilian prepaid SIM normally requires your CPF (foreigner tax ID) plus passport, which slows tourists down. The fast no-store route is a travel eSIM (Airalo/Holafly) bought online with just a passport over Wi-Fi.
